Sadly..Bill Britten(depicted in the color photo)who was the first NYC based kids tv host/performer to play"Bozo The Clown"passed away on February 4,2020.

Pinto Colvig was the very first"Bozo The Clown"on a daily local L.A.,
Cal. kids tv show in the late 1940's..the second host/performer to
play the character was Sid Saylor and Pinto's son Vance Colvig
was the third.

The Bozo in Los Angeles when I was growing up was Vance Colvig (Jr.) , son of Pinto Colvig (real name Vance Colvig, Sr.) who was the original voice of Bozo before cartoons in the late 1940s and Bozo was heard on 78 RPM records issued on the Capitol label. The cartoons came out ten years later with Larry Harmon as the voice of Bozo. Pinto Colvig is best remembered as the original voice of Goofy (Walt Disney). Vance Colvig did characters on live kids' shows on several stations in Los Angeles besides Bozo.
