Ahhhh what memories! This was the 1st "New" car I bought while in the the Air Force (it was the same color as the one pictured). I had $1,000 saved and because I was 19 with no established credit my mom had to co-sign for the loan for the balance. I remember the banker saying, "seeing as you're in the service, we'll know where to find you." LOL

I had a 1970 Chevelle...  307 V-8.  Pretty agile for the era, as long as you didn't have to turn a corner or use the brakes. Car swallowed gas like a son-of-a-gun and bent lifters on the regular.  I got that thing towed home from all around the SF Bay Area. Looked good, tho...
